Who Deserves This?
i like adam s site and i d be happy
to see my poems there by all means
i bet i know what part of the
attraction is i can see from his blog
that he s a perfumer he says he s a
natural perfumer i don t even know
what that means natural question mark
everyone knows perfume itself is
unnatural some would say holy
as in not of this earth maybe you can
get him to explain that some
inquiring minds want to know
well as long as he s chivalrous is all
that i ask he s got to treat my savannah
like the true lady that she is or else
i m going to reign terror over him
just like i did to your stalker friend
i must say he s got promise as a poet
i can tell he s just going along
writing whatever crosses his mind
and that s fine he ll mature slowly
but i think he could actually make
a mark maybe i should give him
some lessons you know savannah
i m already garnering some renown
even in my cockroach incarnation
infamy you might say the other day
i went to that coffee shop at the center
of town just for a change of scenery
i overheard these two writers talking
one woman said she d heard of
a new writer posing as a cockroach
exclamation point she went on
to say that i m nothing but a
copycat and that she hoped
someone would just step on me
double exclamation point
she must be jealous or something
probably doesn t have a friend
to put her stuff online probably
doesn t have anything to put online
anyway artist types are so fussy
just as with the other roaches i don t
fancy spending time with them
really but then that penchant has
always made for such a lonely life
maybe i should lighten up a little
still to wish a squashing on me i
don t deserve that just as i don t
deserve the fate of a roach what
