Up One

Take heart

Maddy, I must say, that's an awful lot
to digest. I mean for you as well. It's
a shame Guru Dev couldn't help.
We'll find someone, I promise you.
Hard to believe, though, that a guy
who was a cockroach even before
he was a person couldn't fix things.
I think maybe the guru didn't want
to change you back, even though
he probably could have. From
what you wrote, it sounds like he
actually misses being a roach.
You know, Maddy, I don't mean
to be overly presumptuous, but
you must admit, there have been
certain benefits bestowed on you.
Longevity, for example. My,
what most of us would give for
that. How great is it that you can
understand me and communicate
with me? And one night, for example,
because of who you are, you could
sneak into the Met after hours and
check in on the mummies and all
the famous paintings. You can sit
there and look at a Kandinsky
maybe even long enough to
understand it! And go visit
the armor section; I always loved
the suits of armor most, imagining
a man in the middle of a medieval
battle, chopping arms and legs and
escaping with his life. Macabre, I know.
Bugs and blood have always intrigued
me. Let me know if any of the suits
of armor have any ghosts with
interesting stories to tell.
