the guru was a nice enough
fellow said he was a cockroach
in a former life but the long and
short of it is he can t help

he copped out too just like
that spider faker i met
you know what he told me
savannah he said the answer

nearly walked out right then
and there i have no time for
that kind of new age crap triple
exclamation point
but it isn t too often i get to
have a chat with a real person
so i humored him and stayed
a while he really isn t all that
bad you just have to keep him
away from self help topics
what would an indian guru have
to share with a roach i can hear
you asking as i said he used
to be like me oddly enough he
was a roach before he was a
person talk about some strange
perspectives he seemed more
concerned with the state of
the roach world than with
the good of a higher order
victim like me he tried to
convince me that the cockroaches
of the world didn't used to be
petty we were all literate and
deeply philosophical he claimed
seems that s a thing of the past
i told him isn t that just the way
of the world he said i had to admit
he s right aren t we all just a tad
more petty than we used to be
